Andy Holder of Skippack is an Iron Man Triathlete that has a Type 1 Insulin Dependent Diabetes. Despite that he still believes that everyone must be given an opportunity to live a happy and healthy life. In an interview he said that everybody should have an active life and must have a positive attitude towards it.
According to Iron Andy, that's what people call him now, there things in our lives that we can't change especially the big ones but we can still change our attitude towards that fact and life itself. We must train ourselves to have a positive attitude in every little decisions we make and things we do. He believes that its a chain reaction, if one sees a positivity it will eventually connect to the other. And before you know it, everybody's doing it as well.
Andy was 37 when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He has two children and was working in an investment business when he knew about it. He was confused and in denial because he was extremely athletic and has been living a healthy lifestyle but still he got the disease. But although her wasn't happy about it, he was still able to got up on his knees and decided to join the iron man triathlon.Iron Man Triathlon is a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike and a full marathon of 26.2 miles without breaks despite the fact that he didn't own a bike and didn't know how to swim. His positive attitude towards his goal made everything possible.
Now he's been helping the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has been raising money in order to raise the people's awareness about diabetes. And now he has founded the Iron Andy Foundation that helps children, young adults and families dealing with diabetes to have a positive attitude towards managing and fighting this disease.
