AP - Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington new series of Advertiesements for L'Oreal and Maybelline was banned by Britain's Advertising Standards Authority due to excessive airbrushing. UK's Advertising Standards Authority a.k.a ASA has made new set of guidelines in advertising.
According to some reports, Maybelline has confirmed that they've digitally altered the image in their ads for their new product "ERASER FOUNDATION" in which Turlington was the main model of such. That is also the same with Julia Roberts new advertisement which is "L'Oreals' Lacome Teint Miracle Foundation" that could make one's skin look more radiant, but the company also admitted that they did some alterations to the images in the ads. They've said that they lightened the skin, cleaned up make-up, reduced dark shadows and put some shade around the eyes, smoothed the lips and darkened the eyebrows.

Jo Swison, a member of Britain's Parliament said that "Excessive airbrushing and digital manipulation techniques have become the norm, but both Christy Turlington and Julia Roberts are naturally beautiful women who don't need retouching to look great. This ban sends a powerful message to advertisers -- let's get back to reality," - The Guardian
But despite that, the company believes that the result of such beauty product is the same with the image in the advertisement.
